The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for resisting pressures from presidential aspirants and party leaders to ‘choose’ a successor.
Naija News reports that Tinubu stated this in a letter to the President, which he personally signed.
While describing Buhari as a true leader, brother and friend, the former Lagos State governor said the president demonstrated a sense of purpose, composure, and maturity  in the weeks leading to the Special Convention of the Party.
The Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party and national leader of the Kwankwasiya movement, Rabiu Kwankwaso has confirmed the party is in talk with Labour Party presidential flag-bearer, Peter Obi, over a merger.
Naija News reports that the former Kano State Governor confirmed this in an interview with BBC Hausa.
There have been speculations that the NNPP and LP are working towards a third force against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has revealed why he submitted the name of Ibrahim Masari as  his running mate for the 2023 general elections.
Naija News reports that the former Lagos State governor had submitted his completed nomination forms to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday, June 15th.
Tinubu signed and personally returned the forms two days ahead of schedule as stipulated by the electoral law and INEC guidelines and timetable.
The President of the 9th Senate, Ahmad Lawan on Saturday debunked the report claiming that he has dumped the All Progressives Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party.
This is coming after lawan was seen in a viral video reading a letter of defection from APC to PDP.
Lawan in a letter released through his Special Adviser on Media, Ola Awoniyi, noted the letter of resignation of one of the lawmakers from Kebbi State was edited by the purveyors to mean that he has defected.
Fresh trouble has come for the Spiritual leader of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Rev Father Ejike Mbaka as catholic banned clerics and faithful members from attending his ministry.
Naija News reports that Mbaka’s adversity started after the renowned cleric made a derogatory comment about Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Mbaka while addressing his congregants earlier on Wednesday, June 15, described Obi as a ‘stingy’ man who will never be the president of Nigeria.
The cleric said Obi lacked the spirit of generosity, saying “It is better to have a president who is a gifted old man than a young man with ‘gum’ hands.”
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Yobe North senatorial district, Bashir Sheriff Machina has vowed to reclaim his ticket.
Naija News reported earlier that the ruling APC had uploaded the name of Senate President Ahmad Lawan on the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) despite him not participating in the senatorial primary election.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Bashir Machina vowed not to accept such move from his party.
While maintaining that he has not stepped down for anyone, Machina said he would explore all options in reclaiming his ticket.
Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Friday clashed with unknown gunmen in Ihiala, Anambra State.
It was gathered that the IPOB members suspected to be from its militia wing, Eastern Security Network killed five of the unknown gunmen.
People of the two reportedly hailed IPOB operatives when they carried the bodies of the gunmen in a Hilux van towards the Onitsha-Owerri expressway.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday approved the launching of the National Centre for the Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism.
Naija News reports that the President also approved the appointment of Chris Ngwodo as the Director General of the National Centre.
Recall that Buhari had established the National Early Warning Centre after he signed the Executive Order 12 on June 10, 2022.
The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ifeanyi Okowa, on Friday spoke on the call for the 2023 presidential election to be zoned to the South-East.
The Governor of Delta who described himself as an Igbo man and part of the Southeast noted that his emergence as the running mate of Atiku Abubakar does not stop the call for Igbo Presidency in the future.
Okowa while speaking on Arise TV on Friday evening said he fits into all divides as he is part of people from South-South and South-East.
Paul Ibe, the media aide to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has expressed confidence that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike would work for the party’s victory in 2023.
This is coming after Atiku picked the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate despite the call for the former Vice President to pick Wike as his running mate.
Ibe in an interview with Punch said Okowa was chosen because he shares similar goals and vision with Atiku.
